Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our ASG Pharmacy team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient. You will work with a supportive management team that will provide flexibility and healthy work-life balance.
Employee Class: Full-time
Shifts: Monday to Friday (08-16:30)
Tentative Start Date: Ongoing
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering medication guidance under supervision.
- Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of medications.
- Process medication orders, verify prescriptions, and maintain detailed records in compliance with regulations.
- Support medication administration procedures and documentation, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient service and medication management.
- Complying with all Health and Safety protocols, accreditation regulations, and internal procedure guidelines.
- Taking direction and swift action with all duties and requests.
- Maintaining excellent rapport with surgeons and patients
- Supporting the Pharmacy Manager.
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience using Kroll.
- Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience working in an Alberta pharmacy.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
- Passion for helping others and supporting healthcare delivery.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Perform repetitive physical movements.
- Able to effectively and efficiently multitask, organize and work under pressure and/or time constraints.
- Attention to detail.
- Exceptional use of judgement.
- Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
