Position Summary
We currently have an opening available for a Customs Coordinator at our Surrey, BC location. This position has the important responsibility of setting up shipments to successfully explicit Canada or US customs.
Description & Responsibilities are as follows,
· Set-up shipments in our portal to Canada and United States Customs
· Following up with the shipper, customs broker and importer of record for missing customs documents to ensure all document are in order and submitted timely to Customs
· Updating shipment status in several computer systems throughout the day
· Receiving and checking documents
· Tracing Shipments
· Managing a high volume of emails
· Coordinating with customers and dispatch personnel
· Effectively communicating and interfacing with other departments to resolve issues
· Various administrative duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
· Post secondary education
· Cheerful and professional in all aspects of internal/external customer relations
· High attention to detail
· Self-starter with problem solving skills
· Exceptional time management skills
· Data entry and strong keyboard skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient computer skills
· Prior experience in the transportation industry is an asset for this position
