Position Overview:

A large oil & gas producer is seeking an experienced Contract Frontline Supervisor – Mechanical to support its Project team in Lloydminster.

The successful candidate will provide field leadership throughout the construction project lifecycle, including pre-mobilization, execution planning, construction, completion, and close-out. This role requires strong mechanical construction experience, contractor oversight, and a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, schedule, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Support pre-mobilization, bid reviews, design/model reviews, and Construction Work Package (CWP) development.
- Review contractor documentation, including JSAs, ERPs, execution plans, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Provide daily field oversight of mechanical construction activities in a brownfield environment.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project requirements, specifications, safety practices, and construction documentation.
- Conduct field checks and review field-level hazard assessments.
- Identify construction risks, hazards, scope changes, variances, and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor construction progress and identify potential impacts to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Review contractor/vendor labour, equipment, hours, and daily reporting.
- Support construction planning,



scheduling, look-ahead activities, and schedule recovery plans.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Completions, Regulatory, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, quality audits, ITP reviews, and walkdowns.
- Maintain detailed daily logs and report on progress, risks, issues, and upcoming activities.
- Support deficiency resolution, contractor close-out, lessons learned, and demobilization.

Qualifications

- Red Seal Journeyman certification in a mechanical trade is required: Pipefitter/Steamfitter, Welder, Boilermaker, or Millwright.
- Experience as a Mechanical Field Coordinator, Construction Supervisor, or Frontline Supervisor in a project execution environment.
- Mechanical installation/construction experience in a brownfield industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical codes, standards, construction principles, and procedures.
- Experience with contractor oversight, construction progress, quality, safety, and scheduling.
- Solid field safety, hazard assessment, and risk management knowledge.
- Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Oil & gas, refinery, upgrader, petrochemical, or heavy industrial experience preferred.
- PMP or formal project management/project planning training is considered an asset.
