Gerry Law Professional Corporation is a plaintiff-side personal injury firm with offices in Barrie and Thunder Bay, Ontario. We act for injured clients with a practice focused on occupiers’ liability, institutional negligence, and civil claims involving sexual abuse and assault.

We’re looking for an associate lawyer to join our team on a flexible, part-time basis.

About the Role

- Approximately 40 hours per month, with additional hours as required and as available, paid at an hourly rate
- Fully remote
- Completely flexible schedule
- No files are assigned solely to you. When you’re off, you’re off. No file management responsibilities to carry between shifts.
- This is an ideal fit for a lawyer looking for meaningful, flexible work without the burden of an ongoing caseload.

Responsibilities

- Conduct examinations for discovery
- Review documents and medical/institutional records
- Assist with legal research




- Occasional court appearances

Qualifications

- Called to the bar in Ontario
- Litigation experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Reliable high-speed internet and a laptop

Compensation

Compensation is negotiable and will be based on experience. Base hours are paid at an agreed rate, with any additional hours beyond the base, as required and as available, paid at an hourly rate.
