About the Role

Ten Ten Sinclair Housing Inc. is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Attendants to support tenants living independently within the Fokus Housing system. Our services are guided by the Independent Living Philosophy, which promotes tenant choice, control, dignity, and self-determination.

As an Attendant, you will work directly under the direction of Tenants, assisting with personal care, activities of daily living, meal preparation, housekeeping, and individualized support needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, respect for Tenant autonomy, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of individual Tenants, and supervision of the Unit Supervisor Attendants will:

Personal Care Support

- Assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, and other personal care activities.
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support.
- Provide support with bowel and bladder routines, including cleaning urinary appliances and specialized equipment.
- Assist with passive range of motion exercises and other supports to maximize tenant independence and abilities.
- Provide ventilator-related assistance including dressing changes, circuit changes, suctioning, cleaning equipment, and responding to emergencies according to tenant direction and established procedures.

Health and Wellness Monitoring

- Observe and report changes that may impact a tenant's health and well-being

Household and Daily Living Supports

- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, kitchen clean-up, and food storage.
- Support the use and care of cooking equipment.
- Provide housekeeping services to help maintain a clean and protected living environment.

Teamwork and Communication

- Work cooperatively with Tenants, co-workers, and Supervisors.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and orientation activities.
- Maintain accurate communication regarding Tenant needs and service delivery.




- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Ability to accept responsibility, demonstrate sound judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing respectful, tenant-directed support.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and learn individualized care routines.
- Flexibility to pick up additional shifts and provide coverage when required.
- Ability to work in environments where tenants may:
- Smoke
- Have pets
- Wear scented products

Required

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Ability to arrive for shifts on time and respond promptly when called.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Compensation

Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with the CUPE Local 4376 Collective Agreement.
