Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Associate will be responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all hotel facilities, grounds & equipment and doing so in an efficient and professional manner. All service provided is expected to be consistent with the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott and SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts standards.

The required availability for this position is two to three shifts on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday), and statutory holidays as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Performs quality preventative maintenance of all guest rooms and common areas.

- Demonstrates familiarity with the hotel’s life safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating issues which affect the security of the hotel.

- Monitor and maintain pool in accordance with hotel policy and provincial standards

- Service maintenance requests from guests and associates in a friendly and professional manner. These include leaky taps, toilets not working, tv not working, heating/cooling units not working properly, etc.

- Be committed to a culture of a “green” hotel and actively participate in initiatives as well as seeking out opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle.





- Complies with all provincial and federal regulations pertaining to building and fire code requirements, health and life safety programs.

- Maintains safe work practices and the use of environmentally sound practices.

- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience

- Ability to plan, organize

- Previous experience in building maintenance an asset

- Previous experience in pool maintenance an asset

- Ability to work independently and as a team, interacting with guests and associates in a professional and courteous manner

- Ability to be productive and fulfill all assigned tasks.

Job Type: Part time

Pay: $19.66-$21.16 per hour
