Job Summary
Steed Standard Transport Limited is seeking a motivated, safety-conscious Interplant Cartage Driver to join our logistics team. In this key role, you will safely transport trailers and equipment within our yard and between customer locations while ensuring efficient operations and on-time deliveries. The successful candidate will have strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a tractor with a manual transmission to move trailers within the yard, between plants, and to designated loading and unloading areas.
- Properly connect and disconnect trailers using approved coupling and uncoupling procedures.
- Perform routine inspections of tractors and trailers to ensure safe operation and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Transport trailers between facilities and designated locations as required.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when necessary to load, unload, or secure freight.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, inspections, and load status.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, drivers, and management to ensure efficient trailer movement and scheduling.




- Assist with yard organization and general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Experience

- Proven experience operating commercial trucks with manual transmission is preferred but not required.
- Previous truck driving experience in freight transportation, cartage, or yard operations is highly preferred.
- Experience transporting equipment or trailers between multiple facilities is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of commercial driving safety regulations and yard operation procedures.
- VValid AZ Driver's Licence with a valid Air Brake (Z) Endorsement is required.
- Strong understanding of load securing procedures and trailer coupling/uncoupling techniques

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
