The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all workforce activities of maintenance personnel, supporting operations through the efficient management of available skill trades, leading and supporting maintenance staff through the daily execution of their duties and give technical direction and performs other activities and responsibilities as assigned.
- Provide leadership, training and hands-on problem-solving guidance to skilled trades
- Work with Maintenance to ensure all planned work has the resources and materials available to complete the work
- Provide technical problem-solving support (root cause analyses) in all areas of equipment, technology and materials
- Use maintenance to continuously improve safety throughput throughout the plant
- Direct appropriate personnel to floor calls
- Make up and assign W.O.’s to maintenance where required
- Ensure accurate time keeping of hourly Maintenance personnel
- Act as a liaison between hourly and management staff
- Communicate between shifts so Team Leaders are aware of plant specifics at shift start (Shift transition, shift handle, work centre board tours)
- Direct work of maintenance-based contractors
- Purchase emergency parts and materials
- Track man hours compared to work assignments to ensure work is completed within time allotment
- Maintains CMM’s for accuracy
- Assess and develop skills and proficiency of tradesmen
- Discipline all trades as required
- Participate in C/I activities and teams
- Complete all aspects of MOS system as it applies to maintenance
- Ensure all hourly documentation is complete and satisfactory for data collection purposes
- Follow up on all safety work orders and concerns diligently
- Maintain MOS system using DSC and track variances on DWOR
- Validate PM and W/O
- Sustain TPM initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Millwright
- Extensive Tool & Die/ Millwright experience acceptable in lieu of electrical exp.
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code
- Strong diagnostics abilities
- 10 years of industrial experience, supervisory experience preferred
- Proportional Hydraulic Controls
- Servo Motors
- Knowledge of ABB Robot Programming
- Knowledge with ABB communication platforms i.e. Data Highway/DH485 Remote I/O. Device Net
- Knowledge with PC interfaces and related hardware e.g. RS VIEW
- Pneumatics functions and systems
- MS Office (Solid Excel skills)
