As a Grocery Receiver, you play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of merchandise into the store by accurately receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming grocery shipments in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. You will support daily store operations by verifying deliveries against invoices, checking product quality and quantities, and properly storing items according to company standards and food safety guidelines. Maintaining a clean, organized receiving area, coordinating with vendors and internal departments, and assisting with inventory control are key responsibilities. Strong attention to detail, the ability to operate receiving equipment, and effective communication skills are considered important assets.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive and inspect grocery deliveries for accuracy, quality, and damage
- Verify product quantities against purchase orders and delivery documents
- Stage, label, and stock products in their designated locations
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records
- Collaborate with store and warehouse teams to ensure timely processing of shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and forklifts (if trained)
- During slow hours or no receiving or shipping,



will shift as Grocery Clerk

Qualifications & Skills

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience in grocery or warehouse receiving preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Valuable teamwork and communication skills
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and recordkeeping
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in order fulfillment processes and package handling techniques
- Strong order picking skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Ability to load and unload products safely and efficiently

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

- Must perform repetitive tasks efficiently over extended periods
- Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy loads up to 23 kgs (50 lbs)
