AlumaSafway is currently hiring a local Journeyperson Insulator for work at our Fort-Saskatchewan and Prentiss sites. We are seeking a motivated, safety-focused individual to join our team.

Position Details

- Full-time employment.
- 7-7 shifts. (Overtime only as required)
- Local candidate required.
- Position covered under Local 110 member in good standing or willing to join.
- Certified JP 53.49 and an uncertified JP $50.04 plus the shift uplift.

Responsibilities

- Apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (ie: calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, styrofoam, fibreglass) on all types of industrial equipment (ie: duct piping, heat exchanges, tanks, vessels).
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
- Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation (ie: spraying, pinwelding, wiring, pasting, strapping, taping) according to the type and shape of surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.




- Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimension as well as fitting insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
- Install vapour barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, canvas, plastic sheeting, cement.

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Insulator ticket considered an asset; non-ticketed Insulators are welcome to apply.
- CSTS and Fall Protection Required.
- Ability to work safely at heights.
- Solid commitment to workplace safety.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from site.

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Industrial construction workplace.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, climbing, and working at heights.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Successful candidates must pass pre-access Alcohol and Drug Testing prior to mobilization.
