Overnight Caregiver / Health Care Aide

The Prospect

We're looking for caregivers and Health Care Aides (HCAs) with overnight availability to support clients across Calgary. These shifts involve awake overnight care, where you're actively supporting the client through the night

This role is a great fit for someone who is calm, alert, and dependable during nighttime hours, and who takes pride in helping clients feel safe and cared for around the clock.

Compensation

- Starting wage of $25–$27 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, with structured wage increases over time

Schedule

- Overnight shifts (weekdays and weekends)
- Hours and frequency vary by client; the exact schedule will be discussed with the successful candidate(s) based on client needs and caregiver availability
- Opportunities for additional daytime shifts if desired

Requirements

- Health Care Aide (HCA) certification, OR caregiving/support experience
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Comfortable and reliable working overnight hours
- Comfort using mobile apps for scheduling and charting (we provide training)

Care Goals

- Overnight safety, supervision, and support
- Assistance with toileting, repositioning, and mobility during the night
- Responding promptly to client needs and requests
- Support with morning routines and handoff to daytime care
- Maintaining safety, comfort, dignity, and independence in the home

Assets (not required)

- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Experience with overnight, shift-based, or on-call care
- Experience working with older adults
- Experience in homecare, hospital care, or facility-based care
- Background in healthcare or a related field
