Pay: $20.50/hour

About The Position:
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Brantford, is looking for a Machine Operator Assistant to join their afternoon shift team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working around metal fabrication equipment who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.
Please Note: This position is not accessible by public transit. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Machine Operator Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the operation of brake press, punch press, shear and other metal fabrication equipment
- Operating a brake press (machine operation only - no die setup required)
- Feeding steel planks through a steel expanding machine
- Cutting expanded steel using a shear machine
- Flattening expanded steel using a flattening mill
- Inspecting materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Following production schedules and work instructions
- Maintaining a clean and protected work area
- Following all company health and safety policies and wearing required PPE at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating or assisting with a brake press, punch press, shear, or similar manufacturing equipment
- Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is considered an asset
- Ability to frequently bend, lift, and perform physically demanding work
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic
- Own reliable transportation (required)
