An Opportunity for an Experienced Managing Broker Seeking Supplemental Income

Are you an experienced BC Managing Broker looking for a flexible opportunity to put your licence and expertise to work without taking on another full-time position?

Servissio Property Services Ltd., part of The Salient Group, is seeking an experienced Managing Broker (Rental Property Management) to provide regulatory and compliance oversight for our boutique property management brokerage during a one-year maternity leave.

This opportunity may be particularly well suited to a semi-retired Managing Broker, consultant, experienced industry professional, or someone with compatible existing professional commitments who would welcome an additional $2,500 per month in supplemental income.

The position is focused primarily on regulatory oversight, brokerage compliance and risk management, not day-to-day staff or property management.

Compensation & Commitment

Compensation: $2,500 per month ($30,000 over the one-year contract)

Term: One-year maternity leave contract

Schedule: Part-time and flexible, based on the requirements of the brokerage

Location: Metro Vancouver, BC

The position is designed to provide flexibility while ensuring the brokerage receives the professional Managing Broker oversight required to meet its regulatory obligations.

The Role

As Servissio’s licensed Managing Broker,



your primary responsibility will be ensuring that the brokerage meets its regulatory obligations and maintains appropriate compliance practices.

Responsibilities include:

- Serve as the licensed Managing Broker for Servissio Property Services Ltd.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, BCFSA requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain and review brokerage policies, procedures and risk-management practices.
- Complete and file required BCFSA reports and regulatory documentation on a timely basis.
- Oversee trust accounting compliance and brokerage record-keeping requirements.
- Review brokerage practices and documentation from a compliance and risk-management perspective.
- Provide guidance regarding regulatory, legal and ethical matters affecting the brokerage.
- Assist with the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, regulations and BCFSA requirements.
- Identify potential regulatory or compliance risks and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Lead or assist with responses to BCFSA audits, inspections and regulatory inquiries as required.
- Maintain appropriate Managing Broker oversight and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

- Current BC Managing Broker licence with Rental Property Management licensing qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of BCFSA regulatory requirements and Managing Broker responsibilities.
- Understanding of trust accounting oversight and brokerage record-keeping requirements.




- Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk-management practices.
- Ability to interpret legislation, regulations and regulatory policies and apply them to practical situations.
- Sound professional judgment and a practical approach to compliance matters.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion and accountability.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with commercial and residential rental property management and Yardi property management software would be considered assets.
