NOW HIRING: Experienced Hydrovac Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Hydrovac Operation & Excavation:

- Safely operate Hydrovac truck and equipment to perform non-destructive excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems
- Conduct daylighting (utility exposure), slot trenching, potholing, piling hole excavation, tank clean-outs, and other hydrovac tasks on both rural and urban job sites
- Monitor job site conditions and make real-time adjustments to ensure safe and effective excavation

Pre-Trip, Maintenance & Equipment Care:

- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of units and complete required documentation (DVIRs, maintenance logs)
- Report any mechanical issues immediately and perform light maintenance when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness, fueling, and general care of assigned truck and equipment

Safety & Compliance:

- Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety procedures and protocols at all times
- Accurately complete and submit Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), tailgate meetings, and toolbox talks
- Ensure utility locates are reviewed and respected before any excavation begins
- Actively participate in job hazard assessments and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment

Documentation & Communication:





- Complete all project documentation including job site reports, time sheets, work orders, and safety forms
- Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and site contacts to ensure all tasks are completed as per scope and expectations
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, subcontractors, and the public

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience operating Hydrovac units in construction or industrial environments
- Valid Class 1 drivers license with a clean abstract (air brakes endorsement required)
- Familiarity with confined space entry, ground disturbance practices, and working around live utilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues on site
- Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding outdoor environments year-round
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Safety certifications such as H2S Alive, First Aid, CSTS, Ground Disturbance II, and Confined Space Entry are considered robust assets
