About Us: MontDoré is an authentic French bakery and pastry shop opening its doors in Vaughan! We are passionate about bringing traditional French viennoiserie, artisanal sourdough breads, and handcrafted pastries to our community in a warm, elevated atmosphere.

The Role: We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and detail-oriented Baker / Pastry Chef to join our founding team. In this role, you will be key to creating our signature products from scratch—from laminated viennoiseries and slow-fermentation sourdough to custom creams, syrups, and French pastries.

Key Responsibilities:

- Baking & Viennoiserie: Craft and bake traditional French croissants, Danishes, and viennoiserie from scratch, ensuring high-quality lamination, proofing, and baking.
- Artisanal Bread Production: Prepare, shape, and bake sourdough breads and special loaves following slow-fermentation techniques.
- Preparations & Scratch Cooking: Make house-made syrups, pastry creams, fruit fillings, glazes, and garnishes from scratch.
- Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation (HACCP/York Region Public Health standards).



Manage prep lists and inventory stock effectively.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to keep display cases fresh and fully stocked throughout the morning rush.

What We’re Looking For:

- Baking & Pastry Experience: Solid hands-on experience in a bakery or pastry environment, specifically with laminated dough (croissants, Danishes) and sourdough bread-making.
- Craftsmanship & Detail: Deep understanding of French baking techniques, dough temperature control, fermentation, and scratch prep (creams, syrups).
- Reliability & Efficiency: Ability to work early morning shifts, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and maintain consistent quality.
- Languages: English proficiency is required. French-speaking is a strong asset!
