Accountant – Contract

Location: Downtown Toronto, ON onsite

Contract Length: 4–6 Months

Hours: Full-Time

Compensation: $30-35/hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a 4–6 month contract assignment with a leading organization in Downtown Toronto. The successful candidate will support month-end and financial close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.

This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional with strong Canadian accounting experience who can quickly step into a role and work independently.

Key Responsibilities

- Support and execute the monthly financial close process for multiple entities and subsidiaries.
- Prepare and post daily and monthly journal entries .
- Complete bank reconciliations , loan reconciliations, and interest calculations.
- Prepare and process intercompany billings and transactions .
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis.




- Support regulatory and internal management reporting requirements.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and work closely with various internal departments.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiencies, and controls.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with Canadian accounting practices.
- Assist with special accounting and financial projects as required.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting/financial experience in Canada with strong knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and regulations.
- CPA in progress;
- Solid experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting .
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel .
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a contract environment.
