Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing journal entries, and reconciling bank and general ledger accounts. This full-time in office role, based in Georgetown, ON, will support month-end and year-end close activities, assist with financial reporting, and maintain accurate records for multiple divisions.
The role includes preparing invoices, monitoring collections, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies. The Accountant will collaborate with operations and management teams to provide financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting,
and assist with audits and tax-related documentation. The individual will also help improve accounting processes, contribute to system and control enhancements, and maintain organized financial files and documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and basic data analysis tools.
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, invoicing, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax principles, and compliance requirements in Canada.
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Ability to work on-site in Georgetown, ON, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA in progress or completed) is an asset.
- Prior experience in multi-division or multi-entity environments, transportation, logistics, or equipment-related businesses is considered an advantage.
