Administrative Volunteer – Short-Term Placement

About the Chance
Bright Lights For Africa Foundation (BLFA) is seeking organized and dependable Administrative Volunteers to provide short-term support with office and nonprofit administrative activities.
This opportunity is suitable for students, recent graduates, newcomers, career changers, or individuals looking to gain practical Canadian workplace and nonprofit experience.
Volunteers will have an opportunity to contribute to meaningful organizational work while developing practical administrative and professional skills.
Responsibilities
Administrative Volunteers may assist with:
- organizing and filing documents;
- data entry and updating trackers;
- preparing and formatting documents;
- scanning, printing, and photocopying;
- organizing digital and physical files;
- preparing forms, checklists, and administrative materials;
- supporting meeting and program preparation;
- organizing office records and supplies;
- conducting basic administrative research;
- assisting with follow-up and documentation;
- and completing clearly assigned administrative projects.
Specific assignments will depend on current BLFA priorities and the volunteer's skills and interests.
What We Are Looking For
Applicants should
- be organized and detail-oriented;
- communicate professionally;
- be comfortable using computers;
- have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace;
- be willing to learn;
- follow instructions and meet agreed deadlines;
- maintain confidentiality;
- and work respectfully with staff, volunteers, and community members.
Previous administrative experience is an asset but is not required.
