Hiring Unit: Department of Biology The Department of Biology at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in quantitative cell biology with a target start date of August 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will develop an cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research program using modern molecular and cell biology approaches together with advanced quantitative analysis, computational modeling, and AI-driven methodologies to address fundamental questions in biology. Through state-of-the-art core facilities, McGill University offers atomic-resolution cryo-electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, next-generation sequencing, and plant and animal facilities, among others.

In addition to its research mission, the Department of Biology plays a key role in undergraduate education in the biological and biomedical sciences. Faculty will have the opportunity to supervise and mentor graduate students in the Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Quantitative Life Sciences, and Integrated Program in Neuroscience programs. The successful applicant will also contribute to teaching in the Biology core curriculum, which includes foundational courses in undergraduate molecular biology and cell biology, as well as courses offered through joint programs and at the graduate level.
