Hoss & Jill’s Bistro is a busy breakfast and lunch spot in Nakusp. We run a deli, sandwich line, barista bar, and kitchen, and we’re growing fast.

We’re hiring for front-end attendant, barista, sandwich artist, and dishwasher. Work is shared, so the right person will learn more than one station and help wherever they’re needed.

Starting wage is on the lower end but gratitude makes for a competitive wage for the area, with room to move up for the right person. Full-time is preferred. A couple of part-time spots are also open to cover the hours.

Responsibilities

- Greet and serve customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established standards
- Handle food with proper safety and sanitation procedures
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and service stations
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling dishes and garnishing plates




- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling protocols
- Restock supplies and assist in closing duties to ensure the smooth operation of the bistro
- dish-pit duties cleaning, sanitize and restocking shelves

Qualifications

- Previous restaurant or food industry experience preferred
- Solid customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience in serving or barista roles is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if required
