About the Role
TE Financial Group Inc. is an accounting and financial services firm serving individuals and businesses in British Columbia. We are looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our growing team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has strong organizational skills, and can confidently handle both bookkeeping and day-to-day administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with our accounting team and assist with maintaining accurate financial records and providing excellent client support.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for small business clients
- Record and categorize financial transactions
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Prepare and organize financial documents and supporting records
- Assist with month-end bookkeeping and reporting
- Enter invoices, expenses, payments, and other financial transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and related administrative tasks when required
- Review bookkeeping records for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with clients regarding missing documents or bookkeeping information
- Assist senior accounting staff with accounting and bookkeeping assignments
Administrative Responsibilities
- Respond to client emails and telephone inquiries in a skilled manner
- Organize and maintain digital and physical documents
- Manage client files and ensure documents are properly organized
- Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating client communications
- Prepare documents, spreadsheets, reports, and correspondence
- Perform data entry and general office administration
- Follow up with clients to obtain required accounting documents and information
- Support the accounting team with various administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
- Accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or related education is an asset
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred
- Experience with Sage 50 is an asset
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Pay: $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
