Reporting to the Team Leader, the Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating one or more press brake machines to produce quality sheet metal components. The ideal candidate must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and follow production specifications accurately.
Responsibilities
- Bend various sheet metal materials ranging from gauge 7 to 26
- Perform machine setups, including tool selection, changeovers, calibration, and accuracy checks
- Optimize manufacturing programs and improve production processes
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to the established schedule
- Identify and report potential machine issues such as:
- Changes in performance or speed
- Oil leaks
- Tolerance or capacity concerns
- Unusual noises or irregularities
- Ensure all finished products meet client quality and production requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings,
and process sheets
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment
- Immediately report any safety hazards to the Plant Manager or Supervisor
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Education
- Bachelor's degree (or relevant technical training/experience)
- Understanding of press brake programming
- Basic blueprint reading skills
- Knowledge of bending and metal fabrication operations
- Ability to read a measuring tape and use precision measurement tools
- Strong understanding of basic tooling functions
- Physically capable of lifting 40+ lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Availability to work across all three shifts and overtime as required
