We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst, Remote! Are you an innovative thinker, open to testing and delivering new ideas? Do you want to work for an organization that believes in people’s potential?

At CFIB, your work supports small businesses in your community and across the country. You will have a hand in shaping the economy and future of the country and your province. You will be independent through flexibility and accountability, so you can live and work at your best.

You will join an organization that is collaborative and supportive, where more than 90% of employees agree it’s a excellent place to work. You will work closely with colleagues both locally and across the country – building upon synergies and learning from one another. You make a difference when you work at CFIB.

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst.

We offer flexibility in working conditions: you can work from one of our offices located across the country on a hybrid work model or you can work fully remote. What will you do?

Reporting to the Director, Development & Infrastructure, you will partner with teams across CFIB to translate business needs into practical solutions across our CRM, reporting, and enterprise applications. Using AI and automation tools, you will analyze data, improve processes, build reports and dashboards, and support business users. You will also troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities: Translate business requirements from across the organization into practical, data-driven solutions in our CRM, reporting and enterprise application stack

Use Claude and agentic coding tools as your default working method: to prototype solutions, write and refactor code, interrogate data,

and pressure-test your own reasoning before you commit to an approach

Identify manual and repetitive processes and eliminate them, building automations and agent-assisted workflows that hold up in production

Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that give teams answers they can act on, not just numbers

Write and refine queries against relational databases to investigate data questions, validate solutions, and support reporting

Triage, troubleshoot and resolve incidents affecting business applications, coordinating across IT and business teams to restore service

Conduct root cause analysis on recurring and high-impact incidents, and drive the corrective actions that stop them from happening again

Document solutions, processes and root cause findings clearly enough that others can use and maintain them

Challenge assumptions in incoming requests, ask the questions that surface the real requirement, and recommend the better option when there is one What makes a successful Business Systems Analyst? Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience

Approximately 2 years of relevant experience, including co-op, internship, academic project, or early-career professional experience

Experience using AI and agentic tools to support analysis, problem solving, automation, and solution development, with the ability to evaluate and validate outputs effectively

Working knowledge of CRM platforms, relational databases, SQL, and business applications

Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools

Programming or scripting experience, with the ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and write code

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and root cause analysis skills, with a focus on solving underlying problems rather than symptoms

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly, adapt to changing tools and processes, and identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement

Experience supporting enterprise business applications, incident management, or structured problem resolution is an asset

Examples of AI-enabled projects, automations, workflows, or personal initiatives are considered an asset
