Child and Youth Worker (Live In Treatment) About the job Child and Youth Worker (Live In Treatment) CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER Live-in Treatment Program (Contract & Fulltime Positions) The Child and Youth Worker, reporting to a Program Coordinator and Program Manager, is an integral part of the Therapeutic Live-in Care (TLC) Program, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic setting that addresses the social and emotional needs of latency-aged children. This a yearly renewable contract, in which primary focus of this role is to assist children to develop their emotional regulation, self-esteem and social skills, as well as to learn to build meaningful relationships and to modify dysfunctional behaviors. The Child and Youth Worker in in the Milieu environment also works directly with families and community partners to ensure consistent communication and treatment planning.

The Live-in Treatment program is a 24-hour program. Staff are expected to be work on a rotational schedule that includes evening, weekends, and overnight shifts. Household maintenance and duties that includes meal planning and preparation, laundry, driving clients to appointment/visits.

Formal Crisis Intervention

Training. Ability to speak French or another language is desirable. Be a confident decision maker and demonstrate a commitment to the children and the ability to be an active part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Demonstrate responsibility for inclusive behavior with staff, students, and clients. Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills Be familiar with computers for the purposes of data entry, information sourcing and report writing.
