One full-time contract Child and Youth Counsellor II, Benjamin Road, position available, starting on October 05, 2026, and ending on September 30, 2027.

Job Band G (hourly wages): Min - $27.97, Mid - $30.30, Max - $34.20 ~ A positive work culture, inclusive workplace policies, and employee wellness initiatives. ~ Eligible to join the HOOPP defined pension plan on a voluntary basis. ~ Access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program which provides free and confidential counselling, resources and services. ~3 Weeks paid vacation (accumulated bi-weekly). ~15 hours of personal time per year. ~ 11 paid holiday benefits per year plus a floater day. ~ Discounted GRT passes through membership with Travel Wise. ~ Supervises, monitors, supports and coaches clients throughout the treatment and academic components of their program. Works intentionally from an anti-racist,



anti-oppressive and equity perspective to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency. Supports the sustainability of Social emotional learning.

Counsel and support clients through all components of the program using therapeutic techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), both in individual and group settings. Assesses, develops, and implements plans of care goals and objectives with individual clients, ensuring continuity and integration of treatment, care or custody. Actively participate in care planning meetings, liaise with families and community partners, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive client support.

Collects information, records and maintains client files and updates client and shift data. Monitors the security of the facility and ensures the safety of the community in alignment with the service mandate. A relevant degree or diploma in child and youth work or related discipline with a minimum of one year working in a milieu setting as a Child and Youth Worker.

Case management experience is an asset. Needs to have experience working with youth. Demonstrated ability to relate to youth with warmth and understanding and setting consistent appropriate limits. Passionate, aware, and willing to learn about antiracism, anti-oppression and equity.

First Aid

Certificate, CPR, and CIT training.
