Role Purpose
> The Cloud Security Architect plays a pivotal role in defining and implementing strategic cybersecurity capabilities across one or more security domains. This includes:
>
> - Contributing to target architecture and roadmaps.
> - Embedding ‘security by design’ and ‘privacy by design’ into all projects.
> - Conducting reviews and governance of technology architecture.
> - Collaborating with the CISO and Infrastructure teams to design security solutions aligned with Client standards.
> - Delivering security solutions that support the overall architecture journey and align with Client’s IT strategy.
> - Ensuring compliance with standards, design approaches, and governance.
>
> Key Responsibilities: Solutions & Assurance:
>
> - Design solutions that meet Client’s standards for availability, security, resilience, and performance.
> - Provide design options with cost-benefit-risk analysis to support investment decisions.
> - Collaborate with product owners, architects, and platform teams to balance long-term and short-term goals.
> - Ensure integrity of end-to-end solutions, including transitional states.
> - Estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints to meet business outcomes.
> - Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
> - Record and manage solution debt during transition phases.
> - Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
> - Participate in post-implementation reviews to improve future designs.
>
> Technical Leadership:
>
> - Stay current with technological developments in digital and integration areas.
> - Recommend tools, frameworks, and platforms for solution development and deployment.
> - Define and enforce architectural best practices and standards.
> - Conduct architecture reviews for compliance.
> - Produce and peer-review design artefacts for service, security,
architecture, and engineering.
> - Mentor and train junior team members.
>
> Design Community Engagement:
>
> - Contribute to the Solution Architecture community across Client Group.
> - Lead or participate in initiatives to enhance Client’s design approach.
> - Develop technical skills to support Client’s adoption of emerging technologies.
>
> Problem Solving & Change Management:
>
> - Solve project-based technical problems within policy and process guidelines.
> - Recommend design solutions in response to project challenges.
> - Take initiative in adapting to change and recommending improvements.
>
> Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Internal Collaboration -
>
> - Build effective relationships with:
> - Project Managers
> - Platform Managers and Specialists
> - Platform Architects and Designers
>
>
> External Interaction
>
> - Liaise with suppliers and technology sources to maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge.
>
> Required Skills & Capabilities
>
> - Design and oversee security solutions for AWS environments.
> - Expertise in AWS security services (Security Hub, Config, Macie, GuardDuty, IAM).
> - Experience with endpoint security tools (CrowdStrike Falcon Complete, Insight, Prevent).
> - Certifications preferred: AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CCSP.
> - Knowledge of application security using Dynatrace.
> - Experience with IAM solutions (Intra ID, OKTA for B2B authentication).
> - Hands-on experience with security infrastructure (firewalls, IPS, WAFs, SIEM, endpoint protection).
> - Familiarity with vulnerability management tools.
> - Strong understanding of cloud-native and contemporary application architecture.
> - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
> - Ability to balance strategic direction with tactical execution.
> - Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
