Position Summary

Lac La Biche County is looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our team and help tell the story of our organization and our community.

This is a hands-on communications role for someone who enjoys variety. One day you may be developing a social media campaign or designing promotional materials; the next, you could be writing content for the County website, supporting a community event, coordinating photography or helping a department promote a new program or service.

What you will do

As our Communications Coordinator,



you will help deliver the County's day-to-day internal and external communications and marketing activities. Your work will include:

- Creating engaging content that promotes County programs, services, initiatives and events.
- Writing and editing website content, social media posts, public notices, advertisements, newsletters and other communications materials.
- Developing and updating digital and print marketing and promotional materials.
- Supporting communications and marketing campaigns from concept through delivery.
- Helping maintain and update County and regional websites and digital platforms.
- Coordinating and creating social media content that is timely, informative and engaging.
- Providing communications and promotional support for community events, public engagement activities and County initiatives.
- Supporting graphic design, photography, videography and multimedia content development.
- Coordinating photography, video and other creative requests and maintaining an organized multimedia library.
- Assisting departments with advertising, promotions and communications planning.
- Supporting strong and consistent use of the County's visual identity and brand.
- Helping strengthen internal communications across the organization.
- Coordinating promotional materials and County-branded merchandise.
- Supporting the County's reputation and positive public presence.
- Assuming Emergency Management duties as assigned.

What you bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong communication skills with creativity and practical marketing ability.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- A diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design or a related field.
- 2–4 years of related experience in communications, marketing, public relations, community engagement or a similar field.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong creative judgment and attention to detail.
- Experience creating content for websites and social media.
- An understanding of digital and traditional marketing.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff across the organization.
- Good judgment, tact and professionalism when working in a public-sector environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communications-related technology.




- Graphic design and marketing experience would be a strong asset, including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar design platforms.
- Photography, videography, video editing or other multimedia production experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge or experience working within municipal government or the public sector would be an asset.
- Class 5 driver's license

Position Details:

- Permanent, full-time employment
- 35-hour workweek, typically Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required to support special events, projects and community activities.
- Travel may be required to special events and other County facilities

Salary: $76,167.00 to $97,734.00 annually ($41.85 to $53.70 hourly)
