The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84 - $44.96 / hour We are currently hiring for a Casual Community Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Urgent Primary Care Center team at Community South Fraser located in Delta, B.Start earning up to four weeks of vacation in your first year ~ Immediate enrollment in a defined municipal pension plan ~ Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations or designate, performs, implements, plans and evaluates nursing care for their own work assignments within the competency and practice guidelines established by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), current legislative scope of practice and Fraser Health (FH) policies and procedures, within a community health setting. Assesses and monitors client's actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs on an ongoing basis. # contributes to the development and modification of client's plan of care; attends and provides input into interdisciplinary care planning meetings. # Plans, organizes and establishes client care plan priorities when providing care
- Promotes client involvement in health care decisions by facilitating teaching strategies to increase the client's understanding of care plan, chronic disease management, nursing procedures and/or interventions
- Performs nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology and Fraser Health standards
- Documents and updates relevant care and procedures information to ensure client safety. # Administers medications and/or provides medication reminders to clients consistent with the established policies and procedures. # Assists clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, patient transfers, bathing, dressing, skin care,
toileting needs
- Participates in quality improvement and program activities to maintain consistent level of care and to ensure that interdisciplinary team members work collaboratively. # Maintains a safe working environment for the client and others by adhering to established safety policies
- Assists in the orientation and education of current staff, students and other members of the interdisciplinary team, in collaboration with the Manager or designate. # Education, Training and Experience: Grade 12, plus graduation from an approved program of Practical Nursing, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and current certificates in CPR Level C or equivalent and First Aid. Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business related purposes. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
