and service delivery meet established department standards; Introduces self to new resident in the dining rooms as part of resident orientation / welcome Responds to resident food service needs and expectations in accordance to service expectations Effectively communicates and interacts with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, and others to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards; responsible for the clear and correct labeling of excess food Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc. In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: A high-school diploma or a GED Current food handlers’ certificate (preferred) Minimum of 2 years of operational experience in a high-volume kitchen Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care Great People is a core value at Shannex, grounded in the belief that our team members are the spirit and foundation of our organization.
