Become a Youth Worker at Covenant House, where your skills will help empower homeless youth in a full-time, permanent position. This role focuses on life skills and fostering protected environments.
Covenant
House is urgently looking for a compassionate Youth Worker to provide essential support to youth in transitional housing. This position involves building meaningful relationships with participants, implementing transitional plans, and engaging youth using a trauma-informed approach. You will work in a self-scheduling model requiring 4 weekend shifts monthly. Key Responsibilities:
- Create supportive connections with ROP program participants
- Provide individual and group life skills training
- Conduct ongoing assessments and referrals to supports
- Handle crisis situations effectively and safely
- Manage shift activities and team responsibilities Requirements:
- College degree in youth work or related field
- Two years’ experience in similar programs
- Proficiency in crisis intervention strategies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
