The Bat Cage Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dependable Part-Time Cricket Coach – Player Development to provide cricket instruction to players of different ages and skill levels.

The coach will be responsible for delivering structured, engaging, and safe coaching sessions focused on improving players’ batting, bowling, fielding, fitness, technique, and overall understanding of the game.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide individual, small-group, and group cricket coaching sessions for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.
- Teach proper batting techniques, including stance, grip, footwork, shot selection, timing, and placement.
- Teach proper bowling techniques, including run-up, action, line and length, accuracy, pace, spin, and control.
- Provide coaching in fielding, catching, throwing, wicketkeeping fundamentals, and general game awareness.
- Assess each player's current skill level and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Develop age-appropriate and skill-appropriate drills and training plans.
- Conduct structured coaching sessions that are engaging, challenging, and focused on measurable skill development.
- Provide constructive feedback and track players' progress over time.
- Help players build confidence, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude toward training.
- Assist players with preparation for school, club, recreational, and competitive cricket where applicable.
- Demonstrate cricket techniques clearly and safely during coaching sessions.
- Properly set up and use cricket nets, bowling machines, training aids, and other facility equipment.
- Ensure players use equipment safely and follow all facility rules and safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized coaching environment throughout each session.
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, customers, and The Bat Cage staff.
- Provide parents or players with appropriate feedback regarding progress and areas for continued development.
- Assist with cricket camps, clinics,



group programs, special events, and promotional activities when required.
- Help develop and deliver The Bat Cage's dedicated batting and bowling development programs.
- Keep coaching equipment organized and report damaged or missing equipment to management.
- Work collaboratively with management and other coaches to maintain consistent coaching standards.
- Perform other reasonable coaching and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of cricket rules, techniques, strategies, and player development.
- Previous cricket playing and/or coaching experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of batting and bowling fundamentals.
- Ability to coach children, youth, and adults at different skill levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, encouraging, professional, and able to motivate players.
- Ability to demonstrate cricket skills and explain techniques clearly.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
- Strong awareness of player safety and proper use of training equipment.
- Coaching certifications are considered an asset but may not be required depending on experience.
- Previous experience coaching youth is considered an asset.

Availability This is a part time position and may include evenings, weekends, school breaks, camps, clinics, and scheduled private coaching sessions, depending on bookings and program requirements.

We are looking for a coach who can create a positive learning environment while maintaining professional coaching standards and making every session productive, enjoyable, and development-focused.

The coach should be able to adapt their teaching approach based on each player's age, ability, goals, and learning style while representing The Bat Cage professionally at all times.

Pay: $16.75-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
