Role Description This is a part time, remote role for a Cybersecurity Analyst / Engineer. The role involves monitoring systems and applications for security threats, investigating alerts, and performing initial incident response.
The Cybersecurity
Analyst / Engineer will assess network and application vulnerabilities, support secure configuration practices, and help implement security controls aligned with industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing logs, conducting basic malware analysis, collaborating with technical teams on remediation steps, and preparing concise security reports and documentation. The role may also support security awareness efforts and contribute to improving overall cyber resilience for Simpli Stocks’ digital platforms.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Cybersecurity and Analytical Skills to identify, assess, and prioritize security risks.
- Candidates should possess Application Security skills to review and help secure web applications and related services.
- Candidates should possess Network Security skills to monitor, analyze, and protect network traffic and infrastructure.
- Candidates should possess Malware Analysis skills to examine suspicious files or behaviors and support incident response.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks, tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS), and basic scripting or automation is beneficial.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC) or coursework in information security, computer science, or related fields are a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and manage part-time hours effectively.
