A D P Todd Secondary School - 0.5714 FTE - Gr. 8-10 Junior Indigenous Grad Coach - Limited Duration Contract Teacher is required by School District No. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, including Indigenous, Black, people of colour, all genders, 2SLGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities. The successful applicant must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch, and possess: Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).

Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional. Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies. Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.

Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation). The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting. Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.

Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning. The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community. A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.

Teaching

Evaluations ~ Certificates & Diplomas (Bachelor of Education) ~ Teaching Qualifications/Licenses (BC Teaching Certificate, BC TQS card) ~ Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional. ~ By applications, candidates give permission to School District No.



Copy of letter from the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada outlining any work restrictions/requirements/deadlines if such documentation is in place. Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC; Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country.

Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance.
