At Extendicare, we believe that working as a team and celebrating achievements creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential. As a valued member of our culinary team you will assist with plating and serving of meals, cleaning serving areas, and equipment, following established policies, procedures and standards.

Work schedule is 6 AM-2 PM or 12 PM-8 PM, with availability every other weekend. Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.

Assists

Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers. Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control. Assembles nourishment carts and stocks unit kitchenettes.



Participates in facility meetings as assigned, attends in-service education programs.

High School

Diploma or Higher Academic Certification. Degree/Diploma in nutrition or Food Service Program is an asset. Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience with institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service environments is an asset.

Ability to read and write in English and understand easy verbal and written instructions in English. Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Continuous mentorship, support for life‑long learning and growth opportunities.

Pay: $22.59 - $25.28 per hour. #
