We are seeking an Electrical / Electronics Design Engineer to design, integrate, test, and commission the electrical and electronic systems used across O-HIVE's machine vision, robotic automation, and industrial inspection platforms.

Position Overview The Electrical / Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for the electrical architecture, schematic design, component selection, control-panel design, power distribution, sensor and actuator integration, wiring, debugging, and validation of industrial automation systems.

The role requires close collaboration with mechanical, controls, software, robotics, computer vision, and AI engineering teams.

The ideal candidate combines robust electrical design fundamentals with hands-on experience building and troubleshooting real industrial machines.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical System Design

- Design electrical architectures for robotic automation, machine vision, and industrial inspection systems.
- Develop power distribution, control, communication, and safety circuits.
- Design electrical control panels, junction boxes, and machine-level wiring systems.
- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, cable schedules, and panel layouts.
- Select appropriate power supplies, circuit protection devices, relays, contactors, breakers, connectors, terminals, and industrial electrical components.
- Design low-voltage DC and AC electrical systems for industrial equipment.
- Develop grounding, shielding, and electrical noise mitigation strategies.

Electronics & Embedded System Integration
- Integrate embedded controllers, microcontrollers, industrial PCs, edge AI computers, and custom electronic modules.
- Support integration of devices such as:
- NVIDIA Jetson platforms
- ESP32 and other embedded controllers
- Industrial I/O modules
- Ethernet and EtherCAT devices
- Cameras and 3D vision sensors
- Laser profilers and scanners
- Encoders and proximity sensors
- Servo drives and motors
- Safety controllers
- Robotic arms and end-effectors
- Support prototype PCB development and electronic interface design when required.
- Develop or review connector pinouts,



harnesses, interface boards, and signal-conditioning requirements.

Industrial Automation Integration
- Integrate electrical systems with PLCs, robotics, servo systems, conveyors, actuators, and machine vision equipment.
- Design interfaces between sensors, actuators, PLCs, edge computers, robots, and industrial networks.
- Support digital and analog I/O architecture.
- Integrate safety devices including:
- Emergency stops
- Safety interlocks
- Light curtains
- Door switches
- Safety relays
- Safety PLCs
- Support electrical integration of multi-axis motion systems and servo-controlled mechanisms.

Machine Vision & Sensor Integration
- Design electrical interfaces for industrial camera and sensing systems.
- Support integration of:
- 2D industrial cameras
- 3D cameras
- Laser profilers
- Lighting systems
- Trigger sensors
- Encoders
- Presence and proximity sensors
- Design synchronized trigger, power, and communication architectures for high-speed inspection systems.
- Support camera triggering, illumination timing, and synchronization with conveyors, robotics, and production equipment.

Electrical Documentation
- Create and maintain:
- Electrical schematics
- Single-line diagrams
- Wiring diagrams
- Panel layouts
- Cable and harness drawings
- I/O lists
- Terminal diagrams
- Bills of Materials
- Installation documentation
- Maintain revision-controlled electrical engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs are clearly documented for fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and service.

Component Selection & Procurement
- Select industrial electrical and electronic components based on performance, reliability, lead time, cost, and availability.
- Prepare electrical Bills of Materials.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with component vendors, panel builders, system integrators, and fabrication partners.
- Identify suitable replacement components where availability or cost constraints arise.

Prototype, Assembly & Testing
- Participate directly in electrical panel assembly, wiring, prototype integration, and system bring-up.




- Perform electrical continuity, power, I/O, communication, and functional testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, wiring issues, communication problems, grounding issues, and component failures.
- Use engineering tools such as:
- Multimeters
- Oscilloscopes
- Logic analyzers
- Current probes
- Power supplies
- Network diagnostic tools
- Support prototype testing and design iterations.

Installation & Commissioning
- Support equipment installation and commissioning at O-HIVE and customer facilities.
- Verify wiring, I/O, power, communications, safety circuits, and equipment interfaces.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
- Troubleshoot system issues during commissioning.
- Work with controls and software engineers to validate machine sequencing and system behavior.
- Support production ramp-up and post-installation engineering changes.

Participate in design reviews and provide electrical engineering input from initial concept through production deployment.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional experience in electrical or electronics design for industrial machinery, robotics, automation, or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of:
- AC and DC electrical systems
- Power distribution
- Digital and analog signals
- Sensors and actuators
- Industrial control systems
- Electrical protection
- Grounding and shielding
- Experience creating professional electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
- Experience with industrial electrical design software such as:
- EPLAN
- AutoCAD Electrical
- SolidWorks Electrical
- SEE Electrical
- Or equivalent tools
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, CAN, RS-232, or RS-485.
- Ability to read datasheets and select electrical and electronic components.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering tasks.

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
