Engineer – NERC and Power System Studies Job available in these locations: Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC, Canada Montreal, QC, Canada Mont-Tremblant, QC, Canada Val d'Or, QC, Canada Rouyn-Noranda, QC, Canada Sept-îles, QC, Canada Boisbriand, QC, Canada Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, QC, Canada When you join our team, you’ll mainly be involved inNERC compliance studies for modelling and assessing the agile performance ofgeneration facilities connected to North American power systems. You’ll supportprojects from defining requirements to delivering reports, including onsitetesting, modelling, results analyses and technical recommendations. You’ll workwith a team specialized in power systems, stability, integration of powergeneration facilities and regulatory compliance.
You’ll also help ensure thequality of our services and maintain trusting relationships with our clients. Analyze field tests, performance data and system disturbances to validate models and evaluate the behaviour of hydroelectric, wind, solar and industrial facilities Prepare compliance documentation, run required simulations using tools such as PSS®E, work with clients and stakeholders and write and deliver technical reports Do your qualities and values match ourcorporate culture? Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and eligible to become a professional engineer (P.Knowledge of power system simulation software, such as PSS®E et CYME Knowledge of transient and dynamic stability studies, as well as generator and converter control systems Understanding of control parameters,
transfer functions and control diagrams Available to work at client sites in Québec and across Canada Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec Asset: master’s degree or doctorate in electrical engineering Asset: a diploma from the Institut en génie de l’énergie électrique (IGEE) Asset: experience working with renewable energy producers or power transmission operators Asset: knowledge of AI tools applied to engineering Group insurance plan from the first day of employment, including disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Annual vacation and sick leave BBA considers many factors when determining the annual base salary, including location, market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications and other relevant skills.
