The Role

We're looking for a seasoned Enterprise Architect to shape and steward the technical architecture behind our AI-driven insurance platform. Working across engineering, product, and delivery teams, you'll define the architectural vision and standards that let us scale securely, integrate cleanly with carrier ecosystems, and adopt AI capabilities responsibly. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can move fluidly between strategic architecture and pragmatic, real-world delivery.

This position is fully remote and open to candidates based anywhere in Canada.

What you'll do

- Own the end-to-end enterprise architecture across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure, and align it to business and product strategy.
- Define architectural principles, standards, and reference patterns, and guide engineering teams in applying them.
- Design scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions on AWS, from high-level architecture through to key technical decisions.
- Provide technical direction on the design and integration of AI and machine learning capabilities, including generative AI and AI agents, in a way that is reliable, governed, and production-ready.
- Lead the design of integrations with carrier systems, third-party services, and internal platforms.
- Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and platforms, balancing innovation with maintainability, cost, and risk.




- Establish and champion best practices for security, data privacy, performance, and resilience.
- Partner with engineering leadership, product managers, and delivery teams to translate architectural strategy into executable roadmaps.
- Mentor engineers and architects, and act as a trusted technical advisor across the organization.

What we're looking for

- 10–15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including several years in an Enterprise, Solution, or Technical Architect capacity.
- Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems in production.
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, including compute, storage, networking, security, and managed data/AI services.
- Demonstrated comfort with AI and machine learning technologies — you understand how to architect for and integrate modern AI, including generative AI, into enterprise applications.
- Deep understanding of integration patterns, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and data architecture.
- Solid grounding in security, compliance, and data governance, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience influencing and aligning cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Nice to have

- Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated enterprise domain.
- Familiarity with no-code / low-code platforms (e.g., Unqork) or platform modernization initiatives.
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional).
- Experience building or scaling AI agent–based systems.
