Shift: Day Shift, primarily office environment with some time spent in manufacturing facilities Travel: Occasional travel is required between facilities As our next Accountant , you’ll be responsible for the financial statement analysis and month end processes of Johnson Electric Motion Technology, Ancaster Plant #2, and shared responsibilities of JEMT Services. The role will conduct month end closing duties and provide accurate and timely reports relating to the internal costs for the operation of the plant.

Oversee financial control and plant performance reporting, including financial statements and KPIs, in alignment with company policies, procedures, and standardized reporting formats.
Enforce and maintain effective internal controls over financial and operational processes for both reporting locations Manage the fixed asset register and process accounts receivable (AR) invoices. Ensure accurate monthly financial statements by preparing journal entries, payroll journals, monthly accruals, intercompany reconciliations, detailed cost calculations, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Complete full-cycle month-end closings (AR, AP, Inventory, and Fixed Assets) on a two-day close timeline, including accrual postings.
Coordinate with the plant Quality team to prepare and follow up on vendor return invoices. Collaborate with the operations team to reconcile and resolve customer payment discrepancies. Maintain customer and supplier pricing records and monitor aged AR and AP balances.
Prepare and post payroll journals and accruals for the JEMT Services location. Manage intercompany journal entries and reconciliations for the JEMT Services location. Perform ad hoc reconciliations,
variance analyses, and other financial reviews to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Support interim and year-end internal, external audit activities and reporting requirements Participate in projects, prepare reports, and complete additional assignments as needed. Serve as a liaison with internal and external auditors as well as corporate officers. Implement and monitor cost management controls while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience (with preference in a manufacturing workplace) ~ Degree (Preference in Business/Accounting major), Pursuit of CPA designation preferred ~ Excellent understanding and thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, internal controls ~ Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills are a must. ~ Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively in a team. ~ Experience with Epicor/CMS is an asset Of course, we offer competitive pay and benefits, and far more than that, we offer you a culture driven by our values and designed to ensure that our most important asset—our people—can flourish.
