Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role oversees day-to-day financial operations, including managing the general ledger, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

The Financial

Controller will monitor budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities include maintaining robust accounting processes and internal controls, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior finance staff, and contributing to continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Accounting and Finance, with experience managing general ledger activities and overseeing end-to-end financial operations.




- Demonstrated expertise in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Advanced Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software; robust Excel skills and comfort with data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in a controller or senior finance role, ideally within a mid-sized or growing organization.
