Role Description The Financial Planner will provide comprehensive financial planning advice to clients, including retirement planning, investment strategies, risk management, and tax-efficient wealth accumulation. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting client discovery meetings, analyzing financial situations, preparing tailored financial plans, and reviewing recommendations with clients in a explicit and accessible way.
The role involves optimizing financial planning strategies as client circumstances evolve and collaborating with portfolio managers who manage the client investment portfolios.
The Financial
Planner will maintain accurate documentation, comply with regulatory requirements, and support business development through client referrals and relationship building. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC.
Financial Planning Responsibilities
- Preparing comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies
- Presenting plans to clients in person and virtually
- Facilitating a team approach in all areas of financial planning
- Serving as subject matter experts concerning financial planning
- Providing the appropriate level of service and advice to clients and their families on all aspects of financial planning
- Understanding and complying with all industry regulations; Ensure accurate administration of all client compliance requirements, minimizing risk and expense to the company
- Keeping current on financial planning issues, including income tax
Additional Duties
- Working closely with the Portfolio Management and Client Services teams to ensure that client requirements are met.
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships such as insurance referrals
- Implementing marketing strategies; provide advice and information concerning investment programs and related services
- Conducting seminars and information meetings throughout the region
Qualifications
- Strong financial planning expertise, including Financial Planning and Personal Financial Planning skills to develop holistic, client-centered plans.
- Five years financial planning experience
- College or University degree in finance or a related field
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or progress toward CFP designation, with solid knowledge of Finance principles.
- LLQP license preferred
- Strong knowledge of managed accounts
- Level I CFA, or CIM an asset

- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and build trusted relationships.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proficiency with financial planning software and tools.
- Understanding of Canadian regulatory environment and investment products; experience working with independent advisors is an asset.
- Demonstrated integrity, ethical judgment, and commitment to client-focused service.
