We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Advisor who loves working with people, isn’t afraid to jump into the day-to-day, and can balance empathy with sound judgement and accountability. Our spa village is the first of its kind, with state-of-the-art installations and at its core, buildings reminiscent of a distant past, when life was strongly connected with nature and steeped in traditions.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Advisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality HR support to managers and employees across a range of programs and services. Working closely with our corporate payroll department, this role also helps ensure smooth and accurate pay administration. We are currently seeking a passionate HR Advisor inWhitby, Ontarioto join our village.
With a large and diverse team of artisans, no two days in HR look quite the same. You might spend your morning coaching a manager through a challenging conversation, your afternoon supporting an employee, and finish the day helping shape a training program that makes Thermea an even better place to work. You’ll be a trusted partner to our leaders and employees, someone who listens well, brings good judgement, finds practical solutions and helps us continue to build a strong, healthy workplace, by doing the following: Be a trusted HR partner to managers and employees, helping navigate employee relation issues with fairness, empathy and sound judgement to find appropriate solutions
- Coach and support our leaders through performance conversations, corrective action and everyday people challenges
- Help make the employee experience better , bringing forward ideas and improvements to our HR programs, practices and policies
- Responsible for payroll administration as required at the spa level, working closely with the corporate payroll team to ensure accurate sharing and input of information
- Support a healthy and safe environment by facilitating WSIB claims, overseeing disability management and supporting in the return to work and accommodation process
- Bring learning to life by creating and delivering practical HR training for our leaders and teams
- Help build our culture , contributing to employee events, engagement initiatives and the moments that make employees feel like a valued part of our village
- Help build solid teams by providing back up recruitment support during busy seasons
- You genuinely enjoy understanding and helping people, but you’re also comfortable having the hard conversations. You can move fluidly between employee support, compliance, payroll, management guidance and program implementation, always keeping in mind the people behind what we do. University degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years in a well rounded HR Generalist, Advisor, or Partner role
- Ability to manage a large volume of tasks and projects at the same time under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced work environment;
Experience managing employee relations, diffusing issues and mitigating risk;
experience with disability management cases
- Positive and flexible attitude, along with willingness to pivot and reprioritize
