Join our agile team as a Full-Time Security Guard at our grocery stores located in North York and Brampton, ON. In this vital role, you will be the first line of defense in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, staff, and merchandise. Your proactive approach to security will help prevent theft, monitor store activities, and respond swiftly to incidents.

Duties

- Monitor store premises through CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity and prevent theft or vandalism
- Conduct regular patrols of the store interior and exterior to ensure safety protocols are followed and identify potential hazards
- Control access points by verifying authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors entering the store
- Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, coordinating with local authorities when necessary
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behavior and deterring theft or shoplifting
- Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and surveillance records accurately and promptly
- Assist with crowd control during busy periods or special events to ensure a safe shopping environment

Experience

- Must hold a valid Security Guard license issued by the Private Security & Investigative Services Act
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level 'C' certificate
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills; including conflict resolution, problem-solving, decision making,



situational assessment and communication skills
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields (1 year) is highly desirable
- Familiarity with surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and monitoring procedures
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and best practices in retail environments
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations or emergencies
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail in surveillance and physical patrols
- Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and interaction with team members and emergency responders
