A privately owned real estate investment organization is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its finance team in Downtown Toronto. About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Fund Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities supporting a dedicated real estate investment fund. This is a highly focused role that combines transactional accounting, cash management, reconciliations, financial reporting, and stakeholder support. You'll have ownership of a defined area of the finance function, work closely with stakeholders to address accounting-related inquiries, and contribute to ongoing process improvements and future system enhancements.

What You'll Do

- Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger entries, and supporting documentation for a dedicated real estate investment fund
- Process payments, deposits, transfers, and other day-to-day accounting transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain accurate records of bank and cash activity and support day-to-day cash management
- Prepare account and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as required
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, schedules, and analysis
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to respond to accounting inquiries and provide financial information as required
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation for the assigned fund




- Assist with accounting system improvements and potential future ERP or system migration initiatives
- Contribute to a collaborative finance team while taking ownership of your assigned responsibilities

What You Bring

- 2+ years of bookkeeping, fund accounting, property accounting, or general accounting experience
- Experience within real estate, property management, investment management, or a similar asset-based industry is considered an asset
- Hands-on experience with day-to-day accounting transactions, reconciliations, cash activity, and financial reporting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial data
- Experience with accounting or property management software; exposure to Yardi, Buildium, or similar platforms is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a focused workload independently
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work comfortably with both internal and external stakeholders
- A dependable, humble, and team-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership
