Deck & Fence Installer — Seasonal (Windsor-Essex)

Decks and Fences by Ryan is hiring an installer for the remainder of this season — roughly now through mid/late-December.

This is hard physical work. You will be outside in the heat, the cold, and the rain — and this time of year, it's mostly the cold and the rain. You will be digging, carrying lumber, hauling posts, and lifting 60+ lbs repeatedly all day long. You'll be on your feet for 8–10 hours.

To be clear about the term: this is a short-season position. We're busy through to mid-December and we need another set of hands to finish out the year. If you work out, you're first in line when we start back up in March .

You start at the bottom. Everybody does — no exceptions. Your days will be hauling material, digging, cleanup, and keeping the site organized while you learn how we build. The pay, the responsibility, and the better tasks come after you've shown you can be counted on, not before.

You need to actually want to learn. We will teach you how to frame properly, cut accurately, and build to code. What we can't teach is showing up on time, listening the first time, and taking direction without an argument. If you already know everything, we're not the right fit.





What the job involves

What we're looking for

- Reliable — you show up every day, on time, ready to work
- Physically capable of heavy lifting all day, every day
- Takes direction well and applies it
- Positive attitude and a sense of humour — we spend long days together
- Reliable transportation
- Steel-toed boots
- Able to work outdoors through November and December
- Experience in framing or carpentry is an asset, not a requirement

Details

- $20/hr CAD to start, with increases based on performance
- Monday–Friday
- Term: immediate start through mid-December, with the opportunity to return for the full season starting in March
