Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. This role involves supporting the restoration of an historic building in the Quarters district in downtown Edmonton. The ideal candidate is physically capable, eager to learn, and committed to contributing to team success in a fast-paced setting.

A valid journeyman trades ticket, registered in Alberta, in any trade applicable to commercial or building construction is considered a bonus and applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

- Demolition, safely strip down the old building to the wood studs.
- Clear away trash, furniture from site
- Use hand tools to tear down drywall, plaster, flooring material, doors, roof, floor boards.
- Safely work at heights, wear appropriate safety gear like hard hats, dust masks, fall arrest (where applicable).
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials or equipment within the work site
- Support the setup and breakdown of work areas for different projects or tasks
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and workspaces
- Depending on applicant skillset, the position may be extended to include replacement of existing wood framing, stairwells, subfloor,roofing, brick restoration, scaffolding,



door and window installation, foundation repair, mechanical and electrical, HVAC and finishing.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies
- Support team members with various manual tasks as needed to meet project deadlines
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly

Skills

- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and home building, commitment to safety procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in construction, renovations, framing, or similar manual labor roles is a plus but not required.
- Reliable work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn current skills
- Safety certifications considered an asset but not required. Applicable training will be made available.
- Valid journeyman trade status in; framing, carpentry, masonry, mechanical or electrical considered a bonus for the position.

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
