Summary of Position

The General Helper is a vital support role responsible for performing a variety of basic manual tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the workspace, facility, or production area. This role requires a strong work ethic, physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Manual Labor & Assistance:
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with basic tasks, moving tools, and retrieving materials as directed.

- Load, unload, and move materials, equipment, and supplies manually or using basic material handling equipment (e.g., dollies, hand trucks).

- Cleaning & Maintenance:

- Keep work areas, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and properly stored.

- Perform general cleanup duties at the job site, including sweeping, trash removal, and basic grounds maintenance.

- Perform basic maintenance tasks as instructed (e.g., simple repairs, painting touch-ups, changing light bulbs).

- Safety & Compliance:

- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or broken equipment immediately to the supervisor.

- Logistics & Inventory:

- Support basic inventory tasks, such as counting, sorting, and organizing materials.

- Prepare and stage materials for upcoming projects or tasks.





- Other Duties:

- Perform other general tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

Required:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred, but not always required.

- Experience: Previous experience in a labor-intensive, general helper, or similar role is an asset.

- Physical Ability: Must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.

- Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work in [Insert Country/Region].
