Under the supervision of the Director of Transit OE Sales and Business Development, the Proposal Manager’s primary responsibility is the preparation of tenders and proposals for customers and the management of that process until contract signature.

Who Will You Be Working With?

Wabtec seeks a qualified individual to join its Sales and Proposal Team. The team plays a vital role in expanding original equipment business for the corporation and works with major transit customers such as Amtrak, Chicago Transit Authority, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and New York City Transit. You will coordinate daily with finance, legal, project management, manufacturing, procurement, and engineering, and you will interact with corporate leadership and sister divisions while also engaging directly with clients during the bid phase.

Responsibilities

- Lead the accurate and timely preparation and submission of commercial proposals.
- Ensure technical proposals are completed by engineering to meet bid requirements.
- Serve as the key point of contact with customers during the bid phase.
- Support and coordinate proposal activity with other Wabtec product lines.
- Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Prepare financial analysis, risk analysis, and win strategies for bids.
- Prepare tender review packages for management approval.




- Manage documentation systematically for hand‑over to the project manager.
- Ensure proposal activities comply with ISO/IRIS standards.
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and develop win strategies.
- Track and organize competitive sales and marketing data.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree required; technical related degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and marketing; rail industry experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $95,800 – $127,000. Advantages include health, welfare, and retirement plans, and eligibility for an annual bonus.

- Remote work will be considered, but relocation is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and French (both written and spoken); French required for positions based in Quebec.
