The salary range for this position is CAD $31.64/Hr.
- CAD $31.64/Hr. Come work as a Patient Care Aide with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella, BC! Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties for acute care, residential care and emergency department patients. Duties include feeding, personal hygiene and transporting patients and/or clerical duties such as assembling and maintaining patient charts and transcribing doctors’ orders. Cleans, sterilizes, assembles, wraps and/or labels instruments, equipment and/or linen and performs related clerical duties. Stocks medical/surgical and emergency ward supplies as required.

The Heiltsuk
Hospital in Bella Bella has 7 acute beds, 7 long term care beds and a 4-bed emergency department open 24/7, along with Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services. It offers telehealth services as well as speciality clinics.

Hospital also has an Intensive Case Management team for mental health and substance use. There is a medical clinic and a pharmacy located in the hospital. The healthcare team consists of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PCAs, Laboratory and Radiology Technologists, Combined Lab/X-Ray Technologists, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistants, and Support Services Personnel.
Heiltsuk
Hospital is located on the traditional territories of the Heiltsuk Nation. Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy,
all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
