Drive occupational health safety excellence at Peterborough Regional Health Centre as a Health Safety Officer. This full-time role focuses on enhancing safety protocols through strategic compliance and training initiatives. In this key role, reporting to the Manager of Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness, you will play an advisory position on legislative safety requirements.
Engage in the development of training programs and conduct audits to ensure a safe work environment. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elevate safety practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Guide compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Execute planned safety inspections and audits
- Oversee training for staff on health and safety matters
- Liaise with the Ministry of Labour for compliance
- Develop policies and procedures related to health excellence
Requirements:
- Occupational Health and Safety degree or similar qualification
- At least 3 years of experience in healthcare or industrial settings
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional certification considered an advantage
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation
- Robust interpersonal and organizational skills
