Vancouver Coastal

Health is looking for a Radiological Technologist to join the Radiology team in Richmond, BC. As a Radiological Technologist you will Practices in accordance with the standards of qualified practice as outlined by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) for radiologic technology. Work in a computerized environment, produce diagnostic radiographs and conducts various diagnostic procedures, either independently or in collaboration with the Radiologist and/or other physician(s).

Apply best practice radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff and the general public and completes required documentation and administrative tasks. Monitor the patient during the procedures including equipment performance and maintains cleanliness of examination room. Maintain and advance own clinical competence by participating on committees/teams and approved research projects, as assigned.

Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiography program. Successful completion of the CAMRT certification exam in Radiological Technology and/or certified with The Order of Technologists in Medical Imaging, Radio-Oncology and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) in Radiodiagnosis. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment. Demonstrated ability to use clinical practice documents organization policies, procedures and standards of care,



including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques Demonstrated knowledge of PACS, Radiology Information Systems and electronic health records (i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and effectively deal with patients and their families, co-workers, physicians, other health care staff and staff of external agencies. Demonstrated knowledge and ability in CPR techniques. Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.

Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
